Windows and wood…but no workers

Finally, we have something recognizable on our lot! Admittedly, we had recognizable things before (bricks and cinderblocks), but now we have actual “house” things: windows and doors! And those pointy roof thingys. And an i-beam and box of wicked looking screws that were Made in the USA. Hoping to see framing start soon! 🙂

Wood! Pointy roof thingys.

Are these things the joists? Don't know, but am proud of how I sound like I know construction terms...

Windows! But I have no idea where the one with the half-moon on top goes. Master bathroom?

Interesting window angles.

Our front door with transom. I'd begun to obsess whether it would open to the left or the right. Relieved to see it will open the direction I'd hoped (because of foyer stairs).

The wood with the waffle plates are your roof trusses. They go up after they frame the second floor and will be part of your roof system. The arched window should be in your two story foyer.

Thanks! I am trying to brush up on building terminology, but am woefully ill-equipped. The arched window would go in our foyer, but we picked an elevation that has regular rectangular windows across the front. We had to drive by another Avalon with our elevation to be sure, but it’s what Christina posted below: it’s for the master bath. But now I am wondering what the foyer will look like with just a “regular” window…

Yea! They dropped all yours at the same time. I still don’t see my windows and doors (except for two lonely windows sitting on the curb like trash). I believe the round top window you pointed out is your master bath window – you DO get one that functions -lucky:)… Workers aren’t far behind!

They were here today! We’ve got the beginnings of the subfloor. Maybe a subfloor tomorrow, and some walls by the weekend? How is your Avalon coming?
